Hello! My name is Rian (pronounced "Ryan"). For as long as I can remember, I've always been that one person in the room with a camera in hand. With years of traveling near and far, I discovered my particular love of documenting memories through photography. At the age of 18, I packed my bags and settled in to Sydney, Australia for almost 4 years, where I attended Hillsong International Leadership College with a focus on Worship & Creative Arts, as well as Pastoral Leadership. There, I had the opportunity to photograph events for Hillsong Church, as well as take my camera along to some pretty phenomenal beaches. Once my now-husband and I realized that we both were basically in love with each other, I moved back to my hometown of Charleston, SC, which eventually led to us getting married, and all the while, my pursuit of a career in photography. I've enjoyed exploring many aspects of photography, such as landscape & travel photography, real estate photography, portrait, family, and wedding photography. Once I realized my love for wedding photography, I decided to devote my career to capturing real, authentic love between couples. And I am so grateful to say that I don't just have a photography career - I have a God-given gift that I get to use on a daily basis to love on and serve others. My approach to photography is natural, light and airy, focusing on creativity and depth, capturing timeless shots, and all the candid moments in-between. Some of my other passions include writing, singing and playing with our puppy, Samson, along with chilling with our cats, Luna and Piper.
Okay, I'm obviously biased. But I love this man, and he is the best husband ever to me. Jionte and I have been friends for over a decade. We met through church and music - I sang and he played guitar and sang. We had similar musical styles and tastes, and were best friends for about 10 years before we even considered dating. He moved to Australia 6 months before I did to attend HILC (Hillsong International Leadership College), and graduated after completing a one year program. We spent time Down Under as friends for the 6 month overlap that we were both there, and every Christmas that I would visit home, he and I would go out to dinner and catch up on life. When we both discovered that we liked each other, we made the awesome and awkward transition from being friends to being more than friends, and life has never been the same. He has walked with me through some of my darkest moments and seasons, and has celebrated with me through some of the happiest of times. We married on March 22, 2014 and have since gained three fur babies. In our free time, we love playing with our pup & kitties, going to movies, concerts, and spending time with friends & family.
